Alex Redwolf

Alex has been Industrial Zone's presenter since its inception. He had no prior television experience, but was put forward by his partner Blue Zwane who was working on the show's production crew. She encouraged him to join the show because of his charisma and ability to improvise. At first he didn't know what he was getting himself into but was happy to help Blue out, but after the first couple of pilot recordings he realized he had landed himself in the best job in the world. He's now led close to a hundred teams of increasingly slippery girls around the gunge-filled labyrinth.

On the show he wears a famously hideous pair of bright yellow shorts, which weren't provided by the studio's wardrobe but were a pair he personally owned - he chose them to match the contestants' yellow swimwear in early seasons of the show. Combined with his red fur, they make him show up starkly against the grimy interior of the Industrial Zone.

Before his television breakthrough he worked at a gym as an instructor, and had led youth groups on outdoor adventure-style days that involved climbing, hiking and obstacle courses. He plays the drums as a hobby, and has been on stage with various local bands.

Influences

Alex's name was inspired by the giant machine Alexander in Final Fantasy. His appearance was first imagined to be similar to Ifrit from the eighth game, a muscular beast that was Iron-K's unrecognized first male furry crush, but he eventually became a wolf. His surname was created in a moment of desperation and has never been refined - at the time it was invented Iron-K imagined that the Zoniverse's characters had more unique given names and didn't use surnames (instead having a concept of a "family" that was part of your identity but not part of your name), but eventually reverted to using surnames for the sake of sanity.
