The Mixer is a gunge tank that can fill with shaving-cream-like foam from the bottom while gunge flows down into it. It's nestled in a slight alcove on the wall of its game room with a set of large curved pipes stretching from the wall to its sides.

In early shows the gunge that flowed to the Mixer was themed around various foodstuffs like chocolate, ketchup and so on, displayed in a row of reservoirs above the Mixer and with the team having to turn off as many of the tanks as possible to avoid their nominee being covered in a revolting mixture. In later episodes the game changed, usually so that it was about unscrambling a tile puzzle or repeating sequences to prevent the Mixer from activating, and no element of turning individual tanks on and off.

The Mixer is an Industrial Zone take on the gunge tank from Noel's House Party, which used gunge in multiple colours along with bubbles being pumped in from the bottom to fill the tank.
