The Gunge Gear is a giant horizontal gear that dominates a room in the storage wing of the {zshow:iz}. For the games played on it, all four members of the team are sent up to seat themselves on four of the teeth of the gear at right-angles to each other, facing outwards.

The players can be spun so that one of them at a time is positioned with their feet dangling over a large domed button at the front of the gear, with the other three underneath a set of long clear pipes that stretch up to the ceiling where large spherical tanks of gunge are suspended. Usually, the game involves the player at the front having to answer {zchar:alex}'s questions correctly and then stomp on the button - if they got the answer right, the gear turns so that they're under the gunge pipes and the next player comes to the front, but if they were wrong the gunge is activated above their friends.

In-universe, the game was heavily inspired by the Gunge Burger from {zshow:satam}, and is an industrial-themed take on the same props.
