A large chessboard dominates the centre of the room, big enough for players to stand on it and act as playing pieces. Off to the side in an alcove, the contestant's chair sits between two several-foot-high cylindrical tanks of yellow-orange gunge made up to look like artificial liquid cheese, with pipes stretching up from both of them and meeting in a nozzle above the player's head.

A game is played out on the large chessboard with one or more players trying to avoid being touched by a piece operated by the computer, with capture meaning gunge being pumped from the tanks on to their teammate in the seat.
